Calendar - Horticultural events and programs open to the public, including a listing of regularly scheduled and a calendar of individual events.

Public Programs and Events - Programs available to the general public providing horticultural information and answering gardening questions.

Speakers Bureau - A listing of horticultural presentations by Master Gardeners of The Ohio State University Extension which may be scheduled for your garden club or organization.

Community Garden Programs

School and Institutional Programs - Programs conducted at school and institutional facilities which are usually not available to the general public. However, the Thursdays in the Garden programs at the Demonstration Gardens at the Ben Franklin School are open to the public on Thursday mornings.

  • Ben Franklin School and Demonstration Gardens - "Thursdays in the Garden" is a time, in season, when Master Gardeners are available to answer questions in the public demonstration gardens behind the school and present some scheduled gardening programs. During the school year, Master Gardeners also teach horticulture to students.
  • Cuyahoga County Community College (TriC) Encore Program - These series of classes are available to members of the public who enroll in the series through Tri-C.
  • Theraputic Horticulture - Master Gardeners participate in theraputic horticulture at various hospitals and retirement facilities.
  • Occupational Therapy - Master Gardeners assist in providing occupational therapy, particularly through the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
  • Other Institutions - Master Gardeners have provided horticultural training at other institutions.

Special Events - Special events which are open to the public.

Master Gardeners Only - The home page for the section of the website designed primarily for active Master Gardener Volunteers. This page has links to the MG Only pages outlined below. Non-Master Gardeners are welcome to look at these pages in order to better understand our program, especially when considering whether to seek membership.

Social Events

Forms - Various forms, including for continuing education credit for non-MG programs and worksheets, instructions and a tutorial for reporting volunteer and CE hours on the Master Gardener Volunteer Management System.

MG Resources

  • Library - The MG Library in the Telephone Hotline room is available for use, but books may not be borrowed.
  • Presentation Aids - Information on preparing PowerPoint presentations and on setting up laptop/digital projectors.
  • Vendor Promotions - Vendor promotions which donate a portion of sales to our MG program
  • Accelerated Propagation System (APS) - Instructions for using the APS seed starting system at the Ben Franklin School classroom.

MG Apparel and Gear - Information regarding the purchase of Master Gardener apparel and gear.

Education Store - Provides the opportunity to register and pay online for Cuyahoga County MG programs for which a fee is charged.

Archives - A password-protected page containing various documents, including Advisory Committee minutes, past issues of the bimonthly Trumpet Vine. The user ID and password are provided to MGs.
